M1 Rifles
The M1 Rifle was the main rifle used by the United States during World War II. Having this rifle as their weapon really changed how the American's fought. There were two different models made of the M1 rifle; the M1 Garand and the M1 Carbine. During World War II, there were more M1 Carbines made than the Garand. The reason for that is because the Carbine was lighter and paratroopers, pilots, officers, and tankers needed something light to carry. There is a copy a lot like the M1 called the Ruger. The ruger is made a little bit better than the M1 because it has longer range, quieter shots, and no recoil. The M1 is the original semi automatic gun that has a walnut or birch stock. Because the world was in war, we needed to have a new way to fight with power. Creating these guns, the U.S. became one of the most, if not, most powerful army in the world. Without having the M1 rifles in World War II, the United States might not have been able to help win the war for the Allies. The creation of the M1 rifles encountered difficulties in the creation process, exchanged new ideas for different rifles, and explored new ways to fight in wars.
Origination
The M1 Carbine was created and introduced to the world by the United States in 1939, the beginning of WWII. It was the newest gun produced by the U.S. in quite a while. They made it self-loading, automatic, smaller, and lighter so soldiers could carry it around easily.
The M1 Garand was created before the Carbine, released in 1936. This was a very common gun during its time; being mostly used in the Pacific with the Marine Corps. It was used world-wide but then internationally replaced by the M1 Carbine.
